Happy Homeowners Home Maintenance Journal.

Available in both Paperback and Hard Cover

Every home needs a journal documenting remodeling, updating, repairs, and maintenance. Keep all of your important home information organized in one place.

My oldest daughter and her husband bought their first single-family home several years ago, which is a Victorian-style home built in 1901. The house came with a journal documenting all the updates, remodeling, and repairs done over the 120+ years it has existed. This was such a great idea, I thought every household should have the same home maintenance journal that can be passed on to future owners.

This home maintenance Journal will allow you to document the following:

Remodeling, updates, repairs, and who completed them. Rating of the contractor and their contact information. Property maintenance tips, seasonal checklists, property component terms, diagrams, and much more.

Damage to your property can be a very scary and stressful situation. Knowing what to do and how the property claim process works can put your mind at ease and make this situation much less stressful. The author, Fred Turner, has been in the home restoration industry for the past 15+ years and is currently a repair estimator for a Chicagoland restoration company.

While he has inspected hundreds of properties, most property owners do not understand how the claim process works, what options they have, or where they can go to have their questions answered. This is a very common situation; in over 90% of his inspections, Fred has been on, so he wanted to provide answers to common questions property owners had in this easy-to-understand book. Fred addresses the following topics in this book:
- The Claims Process Explained
- Water Losses and Flood Claims
- Storm Damage Claims
- Mold Claims
- Fire, Lightning, and Smoke Claims
- Vehicle Damage to House Claims
- Theft and Vandalism Claims
- Animal and Insect Damage Claims
- Earthquakes, Mud Slides, and Sinkhole Claims
- Bio Hazard Claims
- The Reconstruction Process
- Asbestos- What is it
- What is A Public Adjuster
- Common Property Claim Mistakes

This book is written from the perspective of a preferred vendor contractor, which means that the insurance company (through a third party) recommends and has vetted the contractor.

Fred Turner is a Christian father of five currently living in DuPage County, Illinois and has been married to his wife Denise since July of 1989.  Together, they have raised and homeschooled their children and as a family, they were involved in theater for 16 years, enjoyed the outdoors, music concerts pickleball, entertaining friends, family and often vacationing in the Northwoods of Tomahawk, Wisconsin.

Fred Turner has worked with homes in various capacities for the last 33 years. He has worked as a publisher for Homes for Sale by Owner magazine for 17 years, a realtor, and a sales manager for a roofing and siding company, and a project manager. Today he currently works as a repair estimator. Fred is certified in water restoration (IICRC), hail damage assessment (HAAG), and has extensive training in the subrogation of claims.

A major turning point in Fred’s life was when the real estate market took a huge hit in 2007 and tanked in 2008 from the Great Real Estate Recession. Fred and his business partners had to close down their Home For Sale By Owner magazine business and Fred decided to change direction into a different career path of home restoration which he has been doing for the past 13 plus years.

Blessings to you on your quest to becoming a Happy Homeowner with No Regrets.
